All the therapists at Skin Deep are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable.  They maintain and develop their knowledge and skills through continuous postgraduate training, ensuring they keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments.

Laurie Ardeman
Laurie started the Skin Deep clinic in the summer of 1992 and has overseen its growth and expansion into the successful business it is today, one in which she can be rightly proud. Laurie qualified from the London Institute of Beauty Culture in 1992, gained certification from the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology and is a full Member of the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC). Laurie has spent the majority of her career in the beauty industry treating skincare problems such as acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis and gives her clients a complete service, from pre-treatment information to post-treatment advice and follow-up recommendations.

Outside of the salon, Laurie can often be found either at a card table playing Bridge, or, more energetically, on the dance floor indulging in her passion for competitive Ballroom and Latin dancing.


Kathryn Allsopp
Kathryn has been involved in the world of beauty therapy beauty for twenty years. She’s worked with some of the biggest names in the industry and has developed the skills and intricate knowledge over that time to become a highly professional and senior therapist across all disciplines of salon treatments.After a two-year Beauty Therapy course at Thanet Technical College in Kent, Kathryn qualified with a Higher Professional Certificate in Salon Management from City & Guilds. In addition, she holds certificates from the International Health & Beauty Council and the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC).

As a mum to Alfie and Libby, time is at a premium, but when there is some downtime, Kathryn loves cooking, travelling to new and exotic lands and catching up on the latest films.


Maria Pedretti
Maria has been a therapist for nearly eight years, after gaining NVQ level 3 qualifications in Beauty Therapy. Her areas of expertise include facials and massage. Maria has experience of working with a wide range of professional skincare brands, and continues to further her knowledge of new brands with ongoing training.

Newly married, Maria has a busy family life raising three boys. When she does have some spare time, she enjoys cooking and swimming.




Lisa Coleman
Lisa has City & Guilds and IHBC Beauty Therapy certificates – coming in the top 1% of her year – from Hertford Regional College, and was selected to represent the college in a nationwide ‘Student of the Year’ competition, coming in the top six from over 20,000 entrants. Lisa ran her own successful salon for 12 years, stopping only due to the birth of her daughter, Charlotte, and since then, she has trained at the London College of Makeup and gained certificates with some of the biggest names in the beauty world, including Guinot, CACI, Environ, Jessica, Jane Iredale and Agera. Skincare and bridal makeup are particular strengths, but Lisa’s experience means she has ability across all areas of beauty therapy.

Away from the salon, Lisa keeps body and mind in tip-top shape with regular gym workouts and healthy eating. When there is some downtime, Lisa puts a premium on spending quality time socialising with her friends.


Jemma Upton
Jemma began her beauty career after gaining NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Beauty therapy. She went on further training, choosing to specialise in semi-permanent make-up, thread vein removal and endomologie. She uses the most up-to-date techniques and treatments available to offer her clients the best possible results.  Her expert knowledge and fantastic results have led her to become one of the most sought after therapists in these specialist fields. Her ever-growing list of clients includes a number of well-known celebrities who recognise her natural talents.
 
Outside of her salon commitments, Jemma keeps body and mind in tip-top condition by going to the gym regularly and practicing Bikram Yoga.


Claire Newson
After A-Levels in Art and Textiles, Claire, Skin Deep’s Nail Technician qualified in manicure, pedicure and Biosculpture in 2004 and gained extra qualifications in waxing a year later. Claire specialises in the application of Biosculpture gels – a hard, polish-like substance applied to the natural nail to promote healthy nail growth.

She lives in Borehamwood and in her spare time, she loves to spend weekend breaks in the beautiful English countryside – the Lakes and the Cotswolds being her favourite spots, as well as socialising with friends, eating out and watching movies.


Dr. Ijeoma Uka
Dr. Uka specialises in non-surgical cosmetic procedures and holds private clinics at Skin Deep. Dr Uka qualified at St Mary's Hospital Medical School in London in 1994. After training to become a GP, she developed her interests in Dermatology and skincare, and went on to specialise in this field, treating a wide spectrum of skin complaints including eczema, acne and psoriasis, as well as offering advice on general skin health and non-surgical procedures to remedy cosmetic concerns.

At her clinics Dr. Uka offers Botox and dermal fillers to treat pigmentation, scarring, fine lines and wrinkles; as well as using the procedures for rejuvenation of the face, neck, chest and hands.  She is also qualified in resurfacing techniques and medical grade chemical peels for severely damaged skin. Dr. Uka offers a confidential and professional service.

The salon is open seven days a week from 9.30 am with flexible evening appointments available on request; late night opening until 10 pm two days a week.
